Mubadala

When the Wind Meets Limit

Winner · Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026

At SailGP's Rio de Janeiro stop, kitesurfer Reno Romeu jumped about 40 metres over the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team's F50, led by two-time Olympic champion Martine Grael, with Sugarloaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay behind him. To capture the jump, more than ten cameras on land, at sea and in the air had to sync wind, boat speed, trajectory and framing, in a window that allowed no second take. What started as one film became a trilogy. When the Wind Meets Limit delivers the jump. Daughters of the Bay takes the story back to Guanabara Bay, the setting that made it all possible. And Engineering the Leap opens the black box: the numbers, the calculations and the production engineering behind a few seconds in the air. To close it, the making-of has directors Alex Tavares and Mariana Britto telling how the idea left the page. The main film won a Gold Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026, in Sports, Entertainment and Sponsorship.
